UPDATE: An earlier release from the Dawson Creek RCMP stated that both the male and female suspects had arrest warrants issued. However, an arrest warrant has only been issued for the female suspect.
DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Dawson Creek RCMP have reported that charges have now been laid against the male and female involved in an assault of a Walmart employee on November 25th, 2020.
The assault took place when the employee allegedly asked the male and female to wear their masks after entering the store. According to the Dawson Creek RCMP, an arrest warrant is currently outstanding for the female suspect.
The male has been charged with Assault and Mischief under $5,000 due to the victim’s cellphone’s intentional damage during the altercation, and the female has been charged with Assault.
Dawson Creek RCMP says they will not be releasing the individuals’ names.
The wearing of face coverings or masks has been mandatory at all Walmarts across Canada since August 12, 2020.
