UPDATE – The washrooms at Mathews Park are now open.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City has announced that the skating loop at Mathews Park is now officially open.

The skating loop will have a few rough patches while city crews continue to build up the ice, so the City is warning you should skate cautiously.

According to a Facebook post from the City, the washroom at Mathews Park is temporarily closed for repairs but should be open within the next few days.

The City has mentioned that there are some COVID-19 precautions and rules to follow when using the skating loop.  The rules including only skate with people within your household bubble, stay six feet apart from other skaters, and stay home if you are sick.

The Kin Park outdoor rink will still be a few more before it is completed and open for skaters.

You can keep up to date on the City’s Facebook page.
