VICTORIA, B.C. – Post-secondary students across the province who feel the effects of the pandemic and the holidays and want to talk about their mental health can do so with the service Here2Talk.
According to Anne Kang, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training, says, “It’s okay to not feel OK, and there is help available 24-7 because loneliness, stress, anxiety, and mental health needs aren’t on a schedule.”
The Here2Talk program is a free mental health counselling and referral service that works to provide year-round, 24-7 support for all B.C. post-secondary students, regardless if they live in Canada or abroad.
Students can access the service through chat services or by downloading the free Here2Talk app. Students can also call toll-free at 1-877-857-3397 or directly at 604-642-5212.
Since Here2Talk launched in April 2020, the service has been used almost 5,200 times.
More information can be found on the Here2Talk website.
