FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Northern Health is advising staff and students at Bert Bowes Middle School that they may have been exposed to a case of COVID-19.

According to Northern Health, the exposure took place between December 14 and 16th.

Northern Health says every school in B.C. has a COVID-19 safety plan in place. In this case, the safety plan was followed, and because of this, the risk of additional cases is low.

Health Authorities say exposure to a confirmed case does not mean you or your child will become sick with the virus and that Northern Health has contacted anyone that directly came into contact with the confirmed case.

Students and staff should monitor for symptoms until December 30; 14 days after the last possible exposure.

Further information on public exposures can be found on Northern Health’s website.
