GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested and charged a male youth with numerous offences, following a drug trafficking investigation.

In the fall of 2020, Grande Prairie RCMP say they received information and tips from the public regarding the sale of illicit cannabis and other drugs. The RCMP Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit began a months-long drug trafficking investigation.

On November 27, the RCMP Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of RCMP General Duty, executed a search warrant on a residence in the Westpointe/ Pinnacle neighbourhood.

The search resulted in the seizure of the following:

A 17-year-old male from Grande Prairie was arrested at the residence and has been charged with:

The youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was released from custody into the care of a guardian and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on December 23, 2020.
