FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John has provided an update on the reopening of the North Peace Arena.

According to the City’s Recreation Manager Vanessa Cummings, due to the current Provincial Health Orders in place, the North Peace Arena will not be reopening in January as previously scheduled.

The Province recently put a ban on Adult Sport and moved Youth Sport back to Phase 2 of B.C.’s Restart Plan as COVID-19 cases continue to rise across the province.

Cummings says they plan to reopen the Arean once the orders are lifted and that they have staffing in place for when they resume operations.

Cummings continues to thank the user groups and public for their understanding during this time.

Further information can be found on the City’s website.

The update from the City can be watched below.
