FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – From beavers to burglars, B.C. Hydro has released a list ranking its most memorable power outages of 2020.

Making the list, locally, at number three was busy beavers in Dawson Creek that caused over 700 customer outages when large branches from their dam construction fell into power lines.

The most memorable outage for 2020 in the number one spot was a hungry bear outside of Nakusp that climbed a cherry tree in search of a snack. The tree could not hold the weight of the bear and it resulted in branches falling onto electrical equipment causing a power outage.

Other incidents to make the list across B.C. include outages involving birds, insects, and even a kite.
