FORT NELSON, B.C. – Fort Nelson First Nation is reporting five of its community members have tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter posted to the First Nation’s Facebook page, the five community members to have tested positive for the virus are currently in self-isolation.
Due to a backlog in contact tracing through Northern Health, the First Nation says contact tracing is delayed and all members are being asked to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms as a precaution until contacts can be traced.
If you do happen to have symptoms or may have come into contact with someone who recently tested positive, you are being asked to dial 8-1-1 for further direction and testing.
The First Nation is also strongly advising against non-essential travel to and from the reserve.
