FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – B.C. Hydro has been notified that one worker at the Site C Project has tested positive for COVID-19.

Hydro was notified of the test positive case on Tuesday, December 15, and the number of workers who currently have COVID-19 stands at five, with 16 in self-isolation as a precaution.

According to Hydro, this new case is unrelated to any previous cases at the Site to date.

Since March, a total of 22 workers at Site C have tested positive for the virus, with 17 having since recovered.

As of Tuesday, there are 1,287 workers in camp at the Site.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Hydro says it is strictly following Health guidelines and has implemented a range of protocols, such as self-isolation for anyone showing even the mildest of symptoms.
