FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Fort St. John City Council approved $20,000 in matching funds to help downtown building owners upgrade the exterior of their buildings.

The Mayor’s Standing Committee on Economic Recovery and Resiliency will be applying for the 2021 Downtown Facade program through Northern Development Initiative. If approved, NDI will give the City $20,000, and the City will match that funding with another $20,000.

Businesses would be able to apply to the City for up to $5,000 to fund improvements to any building’s exterior in the downtown core.

If the funding is approved, the City will accept applications for the program until May 30, 2021, and projects must be completed by December 31, 2021.
