DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The COVID-19 outbreak and Rotary Manor in Dawson Creek has been officially declared over.

The outbreak was first declared on November 2, 2020.

According to Northern Health, there were a total of 13 confirmed cases of COVID-19, nine residents and four staff, as well as two resident deaths.

Rotary Manor’s staff and care providers have focused on enhanced outbreak control measures throughout the manor for more than four weeks. All while continuing to provide excellent care to the residents.

Northern Health says that all long-term care facilities have clear policies and procedures for COVID-19 infection prevention and control. These will remain the focus at Rotary Manor to limit the risk of transmission to residents, staff, and physicians. These include social visits, which will resume residents on the affected unit following strict COVID-19 prevention protocols.

Northern Health advises that any visitors contact Rotary Manor to arrange visits and not just go to the manor directly without any arrangements in place.
