FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Staff and students at Bert Bowes Middle School are being advised by Northern Health, for a fourth time, that they may have been in contact with a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19.

The exposures took place from November 30th to December 4th.

Previous exposures at Bert Bowes announced by Northern Health have been November 16th, November 18th to 20th, and November 30th.

According to Northern Health, every school in B.C. has a COVID-19 safety plan in place. In this case, the safety plan was followed, and because of this, the risk of additional cases is low.

Health Authorities say exposure to a confirmed case does not mean you or your child will become sick with COVID-19 and that Northern Health has contacted anyone that directly came into contact with the confirmed case.

Students and staff should monitor for symptoms until 14 days after the last possible exposure.

Further information on public exposures can be found on Northern Health’s website.
