FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Staff and students of Bert Bowes Middle School are being advised, for a third time, by Northern Health that they may have been in contact with a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19.

According to Northern Health, the possible exposure took place on November 30, 2020.

Northern Health says every school in B.C. has a COVID-19 safety plan in place. In this circumstance, the safety plan was followed precisely – and because of this, the risk of additional cases is very low.

Health Authorities say exposure to a confirmed case does not mean you or your child will become sick with COVID-19 and that anyone that directly came into contact with the confirmed case has been contacted by Northern Health.

Students and staff should monitor for symptoms until 14 days after the last possible exposure.

Further information on public exposures can be found on Northern Health’s website.
