VICTORIA, B.C. – Residents across the province can now get double the amount per rebate to buy and install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for home and work.

These rebates will be offered through CleanBC’s Go Electric EV Charger Rebate and EV Ready programs.

Bruce Ralston, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, says, “B.C. has the strongest uptake in electric vehicle adoption across Canada, and we’re positioning ourselves to become leaders in the EV industry. We’re doubling the previous rebate amounts for home and workplace charging and adding new offers to support charging stations. We’re making it easier and more affordable for people to make the switch to electric vehicles and supporting new jobs for electricians and trades workers across B.C.”

Customers can access double the previous rebates that are available through the EV Charger Rebate program to help with any up-front costs that come with the EV’s.

Homeowners can get a rebate of up to 50 percent of an EV charger’s purchase and installation costs up to a max of $700. Workplaces and anyone living in an apartment or condo that purchase and install an EV charger can receive 50 percent of costs to a max of $4,000.

Applications for new offers open on Friday, December 4th.
