VICTORIA, B.C. – 23 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Thursday, in the Northern Health Region, making the number of active cases to 235.

In the Northern Health Region, 33 are in hospital, with 11 of those in ICU.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Northern Health Region now stands at 928.

The Region’s death count sits at eight.

Earlier in the day, Northern Health reported that the COVID-19 outbreak continues at the North Peace Seniors Housing Society’s apartment complex in Fort St. John.

According to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, 694 new cases were confirmed across B.C. bringing the total to 35,422.

Active cases across the province stand at 9,103 and 24,928 have since recovered.

Hospitalizations in B.C. are at 325, with 80 of those in ICU.

The province’s death count now sits at 481.

10,849 people are currently under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases.
