VICTORIA, B.C. – The province has seen the highest rate of new deaths related to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, with 46 new deaths being recorded over the weekend.

B.C.’s COVID-19 death count now sits at a total of 441, with 177 of those deaths being reported in November.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says the whole province is in mourning for the lives lost.

“And while it is the families of those who have died we are feeling for the most right now, this tragedy is all of our tragedy and we all mourn their loss.”

According to Henry, 2,364 new cases were confirmed on Monday across B.C., bringing the total to 33,238.

Active cases across the province stand at 8,855 and 23,111 have since recovered.

Hospitalizations in B.C. are at 316, with 75 of those in ICU.

10,139 people are currently under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases.
