DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Telus has announced that it is looking at upgrading high-speed internet service to the communities of Bear Flat, Rolla, and Moberly Lake.

In a letter sent to the Peace River Regional District Board of Directors,  Telus is looking for support from the Board to qualify for government subsidies through the ‘Connecting British Columbia Program’.

If Telus were to get this first round of funding, it would allow them to improve connectivity for the aforementioned rural communities, with the hopes of eventually improving services to other communities within the Regional District.

The Program is funded by the Province and administered by Northern Development.

The Board will receive a presentation from Telus representatives at the next meeting on Thursday, November 26, to make a decision for support.
