FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Operation Christmas Child has been supplying children in need across 150 countries with shoeboxes filled with Christmas goodies since 1993.
A part of Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child has supplied 178 million shoeboxes since it began in 1993. Most recently, 360 shoeboxes were completed in Fort St.John on Saturday, November 7th.
According to Crystal Holden, Regional Rep, the shoeboxes are collected the third week in November annually. This year the collection week is November 16th to November 22nd. The shoeboxes can be picked up and dropped off at these local businesses in Fort St. John:
The shoeboxes can be with pens, pencils, crayons, notebooks, stuffed animals, small toys, combs, hair accessories, etc. You can also choose whether the shoebox is for a girl or boy and select the age category, ages 2 to 4, 5 to 9, or 10 to 14 years old.
This year shoeboxes will be sent to countries in Africa and South America.
