FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Windsor Plywood announced today, Friday, that they would be doing a Christmas fundraiser with proceeds being given to the Fort St. John Food Bank.
Richard Cronier, manager at Windsor Plywood in Fort St. John, says that the fundraiser will be tickets sold for $5 each on a ‘River Table,’ which is made using Zapatero wood, harvested from the Panama Canal.
A B.C. logging company harvested the wood from the Canal, which was built in 1881, and Windsor Plywood purchased some of the strips of wood. The Zapatero wood will have an epoxy resin ‘river’ included with a pigment added to it.
Cronier says the table in total should take around 40 to 50 hours to complete. Tickets are now on sale and are available at the Windsor Plywood store at 10903 Tahltan Road.
He also adds that anyone can stop by and check out the progress of the table.
Below are some pictures of the ‘River Table’ so far.
