FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John is receiving $3.7 million, from Provincial Government, in COVID-19 relief funding.

In September, the Province announced nearly $2 billion in joint federal/provincial spending to help municipalities deal with the impacts of the pandemic.

The City is receiving its share from the $425 million ‘COVID‐19 Safe Restart Grant’ funding stream.

According to the Province, this funding will support local governments as they deal with increased operating costs and lower revenue due to COVID‐19.

It will also ensure local governments can continue to deliver the services people depend on in their communities.

As part of the grant agreement, the City will be required to annually report on how it spent this grant.
