FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Tim Hortons Fort St. John has donated $5,414 to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation.

The donation is the proceeds from the Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Campaign held from September 14th to 20th. The FSJ Tim’s has been donating the proceeds from its Smile Cookie Campaign to the Hospital Foundation since 2007 and has donated more than $75,000 in the past 13 years.

The donations so far have helped the Foundation purchase emergent medical equipment to enhance patient care and comfort at the hospital and Peace Villa Residential Care Facility.

Owner of the Fort St. John Tim Hortons, Julia Bowie, says, “My husband Ron and myself have chosen to support the FSJ Hospital Foundation because we feel confident that the Foundation will use the funds to make meaningful and impactful purchases for our local hospital which will have a direct effect on the quality of life for all of us that call this wonderful community our home. We have found it to be an enjoyable and meaningful fundraiser that has become a family tradition for many of our customers and staff.”

The Smile Cookie Campaign was created to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario in 1996. Since then, it has grown into an important fundraising event across North America. Nationally, Tim Hortons’ help to support more than 34 charities.
