VICTORIA, B.C. – Seven new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Thursday, bringing the total in Northern Health to 406.

As of Thursday, there were 29 active cases within the Region, with one in hospital.

According to the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, 234 new cases were confirmed, Thursday, across B.C., bringing the total to 14,109.

Active cases across the province stand at 2,344 and 11,448 have since recovered.

Hospitalizations in B.C., are at 86, with 24 of those in ICU.

The province’s death count is now up to 262.

Henry says a province-wide order is in place limiting the number of people who can visit in our homes, strongly discouraging group festivities.

“That means no Halloween parties this weekend. This is because many of the things we do at parties and celebrations, are much much riskier, particularly now.”

5,714 people are currently under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases.
