FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John Council has proclaimed this week, October 25 to 31, as Respiratory Therapy Week.

According to Registered Respiratory Therapist Jo-Anne Rondeau, this week serves to educate the public about the varied roles and responsibilities of Respiratory Therapists and to raise awareness of the significant contribution made by Respiratory Therapists across our health care system.

Rondeau says this week is of particular importance this year, especially since Respiratory Therapists have been providing extensive care and assistance in the fight against COVID-19.

Respiratory Therapists also provide essential care to a wide range of patients with non-COVID-19 related illnesses such as Asthma, COPD, Heart Disease & Cancer.

According to Rondeau, there are five therapists providing respiratory services within Fort St. John.
