FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The month of November is usually a busy month for the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation. It’s ‘Be An Angel’ Campaign runs from November 1st to 30th. Near the end, there is always a Gala and Silent Auction, which helped the foundation raise money for the hospital and Peace Villa Residential Care Facility.

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the gala has been cancelled this year, meaning the Light-A-Moose event is now a significant year-end fundraising event for the foundation.

Light-A-Moose will be taking place from November 18th to 20th in the Murray GM parking lot, where Moose FM will be broadcasting live from 6 am to 6 pm, and COVID-19 protocols will be in place.

Money that has been raised from previous years events and fundraisers have gone towards buying machines for the hospital so residents can save money travelling for appointments for things like CT Scans. The Foundation was able to purchase one for the hospital 10 years ago that has helped serve over 30,000 patients. The foundation also helped the hospital in purchasing an MRI machine in 2017.

While interviewing with Moose FM, Niki Hedges said that they are still looking for sponsors and support, and anyone interested can call the Foundation at 250-261-7563 or visit the FSJ Hospital Foundation website for more information.
