FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John is now accepting applications from downtown businesses for the ‘Light up your Business’ grant.
Supported through the Mayor’s Standing Committee on Economic Recovery and Resiliency, Mayor Lori Ackerman says the grant will support businesses and encourage residents to shop locally.
“As the Mayor’s Standing Committee on Community Economic Recovery continues to work on the Social and Economic Development Framework, we want to support our local downtown businesses, encourage residents to shop locally and realize this initiative that is a part of our Winter City Guidelines.”

According to City Staff, downtown businesses are eligible for up to $1,000 to beautify and illuminate your storefronts and update window decor for a seasonal transformation.
The City says additional lighting adds to your business’s ambiance, from string lights to window decorations and other forms of art that would make your storefront stand out.
