UPDATE – At appropriately 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14 a fire started at Tervita’s South Taylor facility.

According to Tervita Communications Manager Kelly Samson, the fire is contained and there are no reported injuries. Samson says they are currently coordinating with the appropriate authorities and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The facility is currently closed.


FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A fire is reported to have broken out at the Tervita facility, located south of Taylor, by 230 Road, this afternoon, Wednesday, October 14.

According to District of Taylor Fire Chief Steve Byford, they received a report of the fire but it was out of the District’s fire protection area.

Byford says dispatch advised everyone was evacuated and no assistance was requested.
