GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – Ovintiv is announcing the start-up of their Pipestone Processing Facility near Grande Prairie.
The natural gas processing and liquids stabilization plant, approximately 45km northwest of Grande Prairie, was built by Ovintiv but is owned primarily by Keyera Corp. The facility will process approximately 170 MMcf/d of natural gas and 19,000 bbls/d of liquids, primarily condensate.
Ovintiv says construction was completed five months ahead of schedule and on budget.
The facility will allow Ovintiv to route production to gathering systems with lower line pressures and give it the capacity to grow its Pipestone Montney resources.
Initial construction costs were estimated to range from $500m to $600m. The construction started in 2018, with the original plan for start-up in 2021.
