FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Over 2,100 mail-in ballots have been issued to voters of the Peace River ridings for the 2020 Provincial General Election.

According to Elections B.C., as of Monday, October 12, 1,416 mail-in ballots were issued in Peace River North, while 750 were issued in Peace River South, for a total of 2,166 ballots.

When looking across the province, Elections B.C. says over 680,000 voters have requested vote-by-mail packages, when compared to 6,517 in 2017. So far, an estimated 138,500 voter packages have been returned.

Voters who have received their vote-by-mail package are encouraged to return it to Elections B.C. as soon as possible and recommends voters to mail their completed package by this Saturday, October 17, at the latest.

Following October 17, mail-in packages can be dropped off at an electoral office by the deadline of 8:00 p.m. Pacific time on Saturday, October 24.
