FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation has released its overall total raised from the 21st Bluey Day fundraiser.
After continuing to collect donations until September 30, following the Bluey Day Event held on September 12, the Hospital Foundation raised a total of $110,000.
At the time of the Bluey Day event, $99,866 was raised by the 23 participants who had their hair cut or shaved in support of the Hospital’s Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Fund.
The hair that was cut was donated to the Wigs for Kids Program of the B.C. Children’s Hospital.
Participant Brenda Baumeister was able to provide a big percentage of donations by raising over $33,000.
Since 1999, more than 700 participants have taken part in Bluey Day, raising over $2 million for the Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Fund.
