FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Peace River Hydro Partners and Pembina Pipeline recently showed their support towards the Doig River First Nation in time for Thanksgiving.

Recently, Peace River Hydro Partners donated $2,000 worth of locally raised turkeys, while Pembina made a $5,000 donation in gift cards to help ensure all Doig members had a meal this Thanksgiving.

Doig River Band Manager, Shona Nelson, says these kinds of donations leave a positive impact for members of the Doig community, particularly for the Elders.

“A lot of the Elders really appreciate it. For them to get their turkey boxes, they were so excited. They didn’t even know it was coming, our chief and council delivered them, with some of our members. It was really nice.”

This is one of the many holiday meal donations that are made to Doig throughout the year.
