UPDATE as of 1:10 p.m the road is now open in both directions.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The Snake Pit Road between Highway 49 and Highway 2, east of Dawson Creek is closed due to flooding.

Caribou Road Services says a culvert has opened up and water is running down the road.  Crews are on site working to clear the water and ice.

Drivebc.ca says the road will re-open at 1 p.m. Tuesday.  Until that time, motorists can detour through Dawson Creek.
