FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Huskies full second round NWJHL playoff schedule was released over the weekend.

The Huskies hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series after sneaking past the Grande Prairie JDA Kings 7-5 on Saturday night.

“It was an ugly win,” said head coach Todd Alexander. “But at the end of the day, a win is a win in the playoffs and we will use it as a learning experience for the remainder of the post-season.”

The team suffered a blow to their offence after Sebastian Powsey broke his fibula in the third period and is done for the season.

Over in the other semifinals, the North Peace Navigators hold a 2-0 series lead over the Dawson Creek Jr. Canucks after 4-2 and 6-4 victories over the weekend.

The Huskies remaining schedule with the Kings is as follows.

  • Saturday, March 3rd Huskies at Kings @8:00 p.m.

  • Thursday, March 8th Huskies at Kings @ 8:30 p.m. *if necessary
  • Saturday, March 10th Kings at Huskies 2 8:00 p.m. *if necessary

Meanwhile, 23 teams remain in the Junior ‘B’ Road to the Provincials which is set to begin on March 29th to April 1st at the North Peace Arena and Pomeroy Sport Centre.
