FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — With the Fort St. John Huskies hosting their training camp in just over 10 days’ time, the team is search of billets for prospective out-of-town players.
The Huskies’ General Manager Jeremy Clothier said that the team is looking for between six and seven billet spots for players to stay during the upcoming season. Clothier says that would-be billets should be able to provide a free bed and bedroom for a hockey player between the ages of 18 and 21. Since the team is on the road travelling so much during the season, billets only usually need to help out with meals three to four times per week.
Player billets automatically get tickets for the entire season, including playoffs, and also get to attend the team’s annual year-end awards banquet. Clothier explained that the experience of billeting a player can be incredibly rewarding, saying that former players that have moved to Fort St. John have billeted players after buying homes here.
