FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A 25 year-old man has been arrested after a serious collision at the intersection of 86 street and 93 avenue.

The Fort St. John RCMP received a report of a serious collision between two pickup trucks just after 7 a.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 25 year-old man had fled in a Ford F250 pickup. The male was arrested a short time later for failing to remain at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota pickup was flown to a hospital in the Lower Mainland in critical condition.

According to the RCMP, speed and alcohol are suspected as contributing factors to the collision.

The RCMP will not be releasing any further information until their investigation is complete. The intersection of 86 street and 93 avenue was closed for most of the day Tuesday while the RCMP started their initial investigation.
