HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. – The District of Hudson’s Hope is reminding residents to be follow the fire ban after fire was discovered near the community.

On Friday July 28, 2017 a resident of Hudson’s Hope was walking their dog on the Portage Trail near the Peace River and discovered a campfire still burning.

The resident attempted to extinguish the fire, but was unsuccessful. The District’s volunteer fire department responded and extinguished the fire.

The District is reminding residents the fire occurred even through there is still a Province wide fire ban in effect including campfires.

The City of Fort St. John has started to allow small fires that are less than a metre in diameter only with in the City boundaries.
