FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – As of Thursday, there has been only one person that has put their name forward for the by-election that will be happening in September.

The seat that is open was vacated by Peace River North MLA Dan Davies.

The nomination period officially on July 25 at 9:00 a.m. and will end on August 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.

General voting day will be on September 9. August 30 will be a required advance voting opportunity (according to legislation) and September 6 another advance voting opportunity (according to bylaw) will take place.

The City says that it is proposed that September 11 will be the date to make the declaration of official election results.

The by-election will be held at the Pomeroy Sports Centre.
