FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Now former City Councillor Dan Davies, said goodbye to Council yesterday as he turns to focus solely on his role as MLA for Peace River North.

On Monday, Davies attended his last meeting and reflected on what it meant to him to be part of Council for the past 12 years.

“I was reflecting on today being my last meeting as a City Councillor. 12 years, I was married on Council, had my two children on Council. It has been an incredible scene how our community has grown and changed.”

Davies said he was thrilled to be part of things in the community such as the Pomeroy Sports Center, paving of roads.

“Managing the growth as well as we have certainly over the last 12 years, we have done so much.”

He thanked Mayor Lori Ackerman as well as previous mayors before her that he had the chance to serve with.

“I’ll miss it. It is a bittersweet day.”
