PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — The Prince George RCMP are investigating a brazen Break & Enter at the Pine Centre Mall early Tuesday morning.

Just before 4:00 a.m. on July 4th, the Prince George RCMP received a weapons report at the mall, which is located in the 3000 block of Massey Drive. Officers immediately attended the scene and learned that a lone, masked suspect drove a vehicle through the south entrance to the mall. The suspect smashed into a jewelry store in the mall and was rummaging through the store when a mall security guard arrived. The suspect fired a shot at the guard before fleeing the mall on foot. The security guard was uninjured in the robbery, but at this time it is not known if the suspect was able to steal anything from the store.

The male suspect was wearing a black hoodie, dark blue jeans, white and grey shoes and a white mask. The vehicle used in the Break-in was stolen just before 2:40 a.m. on Monday July 3rd from a business in the BCR Industrial Site at the south end of Prince George. Surveillance images have been obtained and are being released in an effort to obtain new information from the public about the suspect and at least one accomplice that was driving another vehicle. The light coloured vehicle is believed to have dropped off the suspect just prior to the vehicle theft, and then followed the stolen vehicle immediately after.

The RCMP say their investigation is continuing. If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477.
