Unemployment rate in Canada still the same, B.C. sees slight rise

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The unemployment rate remained at 7.0% in Canada for October.

Here in B.C., employment rose by 15,000 in October. The unemployment rate also increased by 0.5% to 6.2% as more people were looking for work.

Despite that increase, the unemployment rate remained the lowest among the provinces. On a year-over-year basis, B.C. had the fastest employment growth rate among the provinces at 2.4%.
