FORT MCMURRAY, A.B. – The Fort St. John Ross H. Maclean Pee Wee Flyers won a pair of games on the road this past weekend.

In their first game on Saturday, the Pee Wee Flyers completed the comeback of the season. After being down 5-0 at the end of the first period, the team came out swinging in the second. Dillon Neufeld led the way with a pass from Colby Busche to kick off the comeback early in the second frame. Busche hit Neufeld with another assisting pass shortly thereafter, before Caden Brown had a breakaway goal to make the score 3-5 for Fort Mac at the end of the period.

The Flyers came out on fire in the third as Busche scored his first of the game on a pass from Adam Bourgeois. Ethan Semeniuk stepped in to tie it up with a pass from Brown to it up 5-5. Then, with just 5 minutes left in the game, the Flyers got a power play and made it count. Reid Arberry and Caden Brown made some back and forth passes down the ice, before handing it off to Semeniuk who got it in for the win.

On Sunday, the Flyers were slow to wake up, and Fort Mac once again took the lead with a pair of goals. Ethan Semeniuk got the Flyers up on the scoreboard with a pass from Grayden Alexander and Luka VanRensburg. Keeping the pressure on, Semeniuk passed it back to Aston Flemming at the point, who blasted a rocket to tie the game 2-2 at the end of the first.

Fort McMurray got ahead by one early in the second, but the Flyers held on strong as Caden Brown answered back on a Reid Arberry pass. Once again the game was tied as the players left the ice for the second intermission.

In the third, both teams battled hard until the 6 minute mark when the combination of Brown and Arberry gave the Pee Wee Flyers the 3-2 lead. Keeping up the momentum, Kaden Arberry’s shot from the blue line from Colby Busche gave them a 2 goal lead. Ft. McMurray was able to answer back one more time, but it wasn’t enough the Flyers got their second win of the weekend.

The Pee Wee Flyers are back in action on home ice this weekend to take one the Peace River Colts. Game starts at 12:30pm at the North Peace Arena
