UPDATE #4: As of 1:45 p.m., Highway 97 is now open in both directions.

UPDATE #3: Officials expect the highway to be open by 3 p.m. Next update at 2 p.m.

UPDATE #2: As of 12 p.m., the highway remains closed. The next update is expected at 1 p.m. The detour remains in place using the Old Alaska Highway, but it is limited to single axle vehicles only at this time.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Drivebc.ca is reporting that Highway 97 is closed 21 km south of Taylor.

The Highway is closed due to a vehicle collision. According to maps from Drivebc.ca, the closure is south of the Kiskatinaw Bridge.

At this time there is no estimate on when the highway will re-open. Travellers can get around the collision using the Old Alaska Highway.
