FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – School District 60 says it believes that the system currently in place for bus drivers to contact parents is working just fine.

The idea was floated around about launching a website to notify parents about late busses, cancelled busses and weather related delays.

“We did get a lot of feedback from the bussing superintendent and from parents that they actually like the personal contact with the bus drivers so that they ensure they get to talk to them the days the busses are changed or cancelled. They know that they have gotten ahold of parents so no child is standing on the side of the road.

We also did talk about how our webpage usually does have cancellations already.”

The School Board also believes the real time updates from bus drivers are more beneficial compared to a website that would take longer to get the information up right away.
