UPDATE: Traffic blocked at 100th avenue and 102nd street due to accident

UPDATE:  RCMP responded to the collision at 11:24 a.m.  When officers arrived on scene, two pickups were blocking traffic.  One passenger was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

According to the RCMP investigation, one driver may have failed to yield to other the other driver while making a left turn.  A violation ticket has been issued.

ORIGINAL STORY:

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. –  An accident has traffic blocked at the intersection of 100th avenue and 102nd street.

2 pickup trucks appear to have been involved in a collision. Police and ambulance as well as firefighters are on scene.

According to witnesses, it appears that one pickup t-boned another truck and firefighters were using the jaws of life to free a person in the Ford pickup truck.

Eastbound at 100th avenue is completely blocked to traffic. No traffic is currently getting through in either direction on 102nd street.

There currently is no word on what factors could have caused the collision.
