FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Fire Department are still investigating after last night’s fire on 101st Avenue.

Fire crews were called out to the fire in the 8200 block of 101st Ave at around 8:00 on Thursday night. Three fire trucks were seen still battling the blaze at around 8:45 p.m. Fire Chief Fred Burrows says that the department’s investigation into the fire is ongoing this morning, and that additional staff are being deployed to the investigation.

Burrows declined to say anything on the cause of the fire or whether it had been deemed suspicious, only saying that the home appears to have not been lived in for several years, and that investigators are still trying to track down the home’s owner.

Members of the Fort St. John Fire Department and the RCMP were seen at the home shortly after 10:30 this morning. Burrows added that more information should be released later this afternoon.
