FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – With the City of Fort St. John still in negotiations with the insurance company on coming up with a solution on the facility that caught on fire in July of 2015, the North Peace Gymnastics Association is looking for a letter of support from the City of Fort St. John to apply for not for profit funding.

The recommendation that passed at the Council meeting yesterday was that the City write a letter of support for the NPGA to apply to the BC Rural Dividend Program for funding under the Partnership Funding stream as a not for profit society.

When asked where things were at with the progress on finding a solution for the North Peace Gymnastics Association facility, the City said they are still in negotiations with the insurance company.

“We’re still in negotiations with the insurance company. A report will be coming forward to a future council meeting.”

When asked what was taking so long, the City once again said that they are still negotiating with the insurance company and that is why nothing has moved forward as of yet because the facility was a City assent and being leased by the NPGA from the City.
