FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Huskies will be starting their 50th season playing on home ice this weekend in a big way.
The Huskies will be looking for redemption against the Sexsmith Vipers, who bested the pups 2-1 in the teams’ season opener on September 24th. Huskies General Manager Jeremy Clothier says that though the players, many of whom were playing in their first Junior game were nervous, the team has since played several thrilling games, winning against the Fairview Flyers last Saturday 6-1.
Clothier says that the Huskies will be unveiling their new jerseys at Saturday night’s game, and will also have brand new items in the booster booth, including breast cancer awareness hoodies. The Huskies open their NWJHL season at home with the warm-up starting at 7:30 before the puck drops at 8.
