FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Huskies are in a bit of a pickle this week, coming off a pair of losses this past weekend, and their third straight loss.

After trailing the Fairview Flyers on Friday night 1-0 in the first period, Lou Turnbull-Giesbrecht tied the game for the Huskies on the powerplay, assisted by Adam Bowie and Geoff DIck. Things were even until early in the third, when the Flyers went up 2-1. That would be the final score as the Huskies were unable to answer back.

On Saturday night, the Huskies hosted the Sexsmith Vipers for the second time in three weeks. The Vipers got on the board first 8:25 into the first period. Kyle Crawford answered back for the Huskies on the powerplay just over 8:00 into the second period assisted by Adam Bowie and Gary Loewen. Brandon Howard then put the dogs up 2-1 with five minutes left in the second assisted by Jacob Lang and Drew Fudger. Sexsmith answered back in the third with a powerplay goal of their own, and went on to win the game in overtime just over a minute into the extra frame.

The Huskies are back in action for a pair of games on the road next weekend, when they visit the first-place Dawson Creek Jr. Canucks on Friday night, and Grande Prairie on Saturday night.
