FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Flyers will be honouring the memory of Mike Landucci at this coming Friday’s preseason game against the Dawson Creek Senior Canucks.

Landucci was a longtime member and volunteer of both the hockey and softball communities in Fort St. John, and passed away on April 29th after a short battle with cancer. Landucci was a longtime hockey referee, and was well-regarded as the Referee Committee Member for the Northeast BC/Yukon District. In his memory, referees associated with the Fort St. John Minor Hockey Association will be sporting patches with Landucci’s initials on their right shoulders opposite the Hockey Canada patches worn on their left shoulders.

Flyers president Paul Van Nostrand said that the team will also be honouring Mike’s memory before the puck drops at this coming Friday night’s preseason game. While Van Nostrand did not tell Moose FM the full details of the brief ceremony that is planned, he said that the team has planned a couple of things for tomorrow night to recognise Mike’s years of volunteer work that he did for the Fort St. John sports community.

The puck drops tomorrow night at the North Peace Arena at 8:00 p.m.
