Taylor Speedway hosts final races of 2016

TAYLOR, B.C. – It was a colder than usual weekend for stock car racing as the Taylor Speedway held their final races of 2016.

The speedway’s previous rain out date on September 10th and 11th was itself rained out, capping off a rainier than usual racing season here in the North Peace.

On Saturday, It was Anthony Seguin, Tyson LeClerc, and Alyssa Elliott taking the top 3 positions in the Junior Mini Sprints, while the Seniors were led by Keagan Wallace, Eddie Scarfo, and Cody LeClerc. Kaden Beebe was the lone entry in the 80cc Mini Sprint.

The Mini Juniors were won by Jesse Wassenaar, followed by Devon Beebe, and Dakota Krahn. The Adult division had Clint Mason as the top racer, with Jordan Harrison in 2nd. Tory Bodenham ended up placing 3rd.

In the penultimate Sports class race, the finishers were Matt Burdock in 1st, Cam Cambell in 2nd, and Dave Devries in 3rd. Roger Bonneville was Sunday’s top finisher in the IMCA Modifieds, followed by Gord Beaumont, Matt Richards, and Dennis Wurst.

Sunday’s races saw a few racers swap finishing places, with the exception of Kaden Beebe who was once again the lone 80cc Mini Sprint racer. Clint Mason took first once again in the Mini Adults class, followed by Harrison and Bodenham. Jesse Wassenaar also repeated his first place finish in the Mini Juniors, with Dakota Krahn repeating in 3rd. Daric McDonell finished 2nd.

Colton Beaumont took 1st in the Junior Mini Sprints on Sunday, while Anthony Seguin moved to finish in 2nd ahead of Tyson LeClerc. Cody LeClerc overtook Scarfo as Sunday’s top Senior Mini Sprint driver, followed by Carissa Elliott.

Matt Burdock was usurped from 1st in Sports class by Wayne Dale. Burdock dropped to 3rd while Cam Cambell once again managed silver.

Johnny Beaumont was the winner of the final IMCA Modified race, follwed by Matt Richards, Dennis Wurst, and Gord Beaumont in 4th.
