FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A team comprised of volunteers from Peace River Hydro Partners and the Northern Environmental Action Team were out in force yesterday for the United Way’s Day of Caring.

The team spent the day at the Fort St. John Community Garden, harvesting fruits and vegetables, as well and weeding and prepping the gardens for the winter season ahead of seed sowing next Spring.

The team also built and stained three sheds that will be erected at the Food Secure Kids gardens at Duncan Cran, Robert Ogilvie, and Central Elementary Schools. The team of volunteers pitched in the school gardens as well, harvesting, weeding, topsoiling, and cleaning the planters.
